American Depository Receipts (ADR) or Global Depository Receipts (GDR) are certificates issued by a depository bank that represents a specified number of shares in a foreign company. ADRs listed on the SGX gives investors access to these instruments during Asian trading hours. GDRs listed on SGX allow a foreign company whose shares are already listed in its home country to raise funds on the SGX.
